What to put on your Baby Registry (and What to skip out on)

What To Get

For You

1.

Medela Nursing Camisole

This is definitely my top recommendation for postpartum moms. I wore these every single day for the first few months. The first few days it was nice to be cool and if visitors were coming over, I could just throw on a cardigan to cover my shoulders. The fabric is soft and it feels great to have that extra support around the stomach. Buy three or four of these, you’ll find it totally worth it!

For Baby

Squid Socks

I’ve been just waiting to get ahold of these in Hazel’s size. They are socks that are virtually impossible for baby’s to pull off! Seriously just take all my money!

Halo Sleepsack

I bought this once Hazel transitioned out of swaddles and although it was massive on her at first, she grew into it and I think it helped her know when bedtime was. It kept her warm and also prevented her from just laying in the crib and playing with her toes all naptime. Also helped keep her feet from getting stuck in between the crib bars.

2.

Dohm Noise Machine

This noise machine has been SO nice. I worried having it in our room with her crib would be difficult to fall asleep ourselves but I barely notice it and she loves it! Because it’s a real fan inside, it is supposed to be more soothing on the ears than an electronic white noise sound.

Honorable Mentions:

This soft baby swaddle is the only one that I could get to stay on Hazel. It’s extra large, very stretchy, and amazingly butter soft.

What to Skip Out On

These are just my opinions, every mother and situation is different. But here is what I found out I could have probably skipped out on.

Boon Grass Drying Rack – It takes up so much dang space and unless you’re a milk making machine, there’s no reason to have one cluttering up your kitchen counters.

Big Plastic Bathtub – I did like having our bathtub, but you use it until they start sitting – which is usually around 6 months or even older – and now it takes up a huge amount of storage space. I would look for a small one. Pro tip: buy a suction cup hanger and hang it on the back end of your shower for some nifty vertical storage!

Diaper Genie – This one I almost didn’t include in the ‘skip out on’ list because I do love it, but I don’t use it as much as I thought I would. That is mostly because we practice EC in our home, and any poopy diaper she does have, gets thrown away that day to avoid any lingering smell.
