It’s official! We are moving to Iowa this summer. Ryan got accepted to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry as well as a couple other schools but Iowa has great specialty programs and is a well-known and prestigious school, especially for at the price it is at. And Ryan deserves the best! Don’t be fooled, I’m pretty freaked out to move so far away from anything I know but I am excited for this new chapter in our lives.

We will be 3 hours from Chicago and an hour and a half from Nauvoo which will be our temple. It will also be nice to live next to one of Ryan’s brothers, especially since their kids are absolutely adorable!

Some cool facts about Iowa and Iowa City:

• Iowa City is where the LDS pioneers prepared for and began their journey to Salt Lake. So we are kind of taking an opposite journey than the pioneers. Luckily we’ll have two cars to make the trip.
• Iowa is considered to be the safest state in the U.S. to live in, no surprise since 92% of the state is farmland. At least I’m used to living on a farm!
• Chris Soules from the Bachelor lives there. 😉
• University of Iowa is home of the Hawkeyes! Sorry Cougars but our blood does not run blue anymore. I especially love this team because they are the same colors of my hometown’s high school team: black and gold!.
